This November 2008 I am starting to teach a 6 weeks belly dance course for beginners in Cardiff, UK.
During the course I will be covering basic belly dance techniques and moves. These will include the correct posture for belly dancers, basic hand and arms movements, hips figures of eight, chest and hips isolation and some simple steps. I will also teach some belly dance combinations/routines for beginners.
The classes will start on Tuesday 4th November 2008 for six consecutive Tuesdays from 6 to 7pm, at the Cardiff Medical Centre Sports and Social Club, University Hospital of Wales, Heath Park, Cardiff, CF14 4XW. The cost of each class is £5, if paid individually, or £27 for 6 classes paid in advance.
You will need to wear comfortable clothes, such as stretch leggings a short cut top and a hip scarf. To begin with, you can use any light scarf and tie it around your hips and later you can buy a coin hip scarf. Belly dance is danced barefooted, so you will not need any specific shoes.
Belly dance is a lot of fun and a good way to exercise and socialise, so why not try it and pop in once a week after work. You can find more information on the Cardiff Belly Dance page on worldbelydance.com and you can also Contact me.
